Terms of Service

The app, the Pro and Cloud plans, refunds, and Cloud processing.

Version 1.0 — September 2026. These Terms cover the Stalkrr app, the Pro and Cloud plans, and stalkrr.com. The in-app Terms you accept on first run are the operating rules for recording; this document adds the commercial rules. If the two ever disagree, the one that protects you more applies.

1. The app

Stalkrr is source-available software licensed under the Stalkrr License. You may use it freely, at home or at work, on any number of your own Macs. Recording other people is regulated: by accepting the in-app Terms you confirm that you have the right to record the people and screens you capture, and that they have agreed under your own terms. That responsibility is yours, not ours.

Permitted use. Stalkrr is for recording your own calls, meetings and screen — conversations you take part in, on Macs you own or control — and for reading the WhatsApp and iMessage messages of the accounts signed in on that Mac, with whatever consent the law where you and the other participants are requires. Monitoring another person's device, account or conversations without their knowledge is not a permitted use: it breaks these Terms and may be a crime where you are. Nothing in the app is built for covert use: it runs from a visible menu-bar icon, and macOS shows its own microphone and screen-recording indicators whenever Stalkrr captures.

2. Free, Pro, Cloud

Prices are shown at stalkrr.com/pricing and at checkout, in your currency, with any applicable tax.

3. License keys

A key is personal to the person or organisation named in it. It may be used on the Macs you own or control; it may not be shared, resold, or published, and the key-checking parts of the app may not be altered or circumvented (see §3 of the Stalkrr License). A key that was refunded or charged back stops working. Keys verify on your Mac; subscription keys are renewed through api.stalkrr.com once a day while the subscription runs, and keep working for a grace period if that check cannot be made. Lifetime keys ask api.stalkrr.com once a week whether they were revoked, and keep working if that check cannot be made.

4. Payments, renewals, cancellation

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record: your purchase contract for the plan is with Paddle, which handles tax, invoices, and payment methods. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the "Manage subscription" link in the app or at stalkrr.com/pricing; cancelling stops future charges and the plan runs until the end of the period already paid. Paddle emails a receipt for every charge, renewals included.

5. Refunds

Purchases are final: the free 14-day Pro trial on every install and the weekly Cloud plan are how you try before buying. The exceptions are the whole list: an unused Pro key returned within 14 days of purchase (once per customer); a charge made in error, reported within 60 days; a key that cannot be activated because of a defect we cannot fix within 7 days; and whatever consumer law in your country adds. Subscription renewals and Cloud periods are not refunded — cancel any time and the paid period runs out. Refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method; a refunded or charged-back key is revoked. The full refund policy is part of these Terms.

6. Cloud processing and your data

When you choose Stalkrr Cloud, the app sends compressed audio for transcription and PII-masked transcript text for extraction to api.stalkrr.com; nothing else, and never screen or camera frames. The gateway forwards each request to a processing engine and returns the result; audio is held only for the duration of a job, transcripts and extractions are not stored, and logs contain no content. Processing engines are used only under terms that forbid training on your data and retaining it. The full description, including the list of sub-processors, is the "Stalkrr Cloud" section of PRIVACY.md, which is part of these Terms. We keep, for a subscriber, the license record (name, email, plan, expiry), a random per-install identifier, and usage counters for the quota.

You remain responsible for the content you send: do not use Cloud to process recordings you had no right to make.

7. Service levels

Cloud is provided as-is, with reasonable care and no uptime guarantee; when it is unreachable, the app keeps your recordings and processes them when it can, or on your Mac if local models are installed. We may change processing engines, quotas, and prices; a price change applies from your next renewal and is announced in the app and by email at least 14 days before.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Stalkrr's liability for any claim connected with the app or the plans is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and excludes indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under consumer protection rules that apply where you live.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes are announced in the app and take effect for a subscription at its next renewal. The version at the top identifies the text you agreed to. Questions, refund requests, and notices: info@stalkrr.com. Stalkrr is an independent product operated from Israel; the purchase contract for a plan is with Paddle.com Market Ltd (the merchant of record) as described in Paddle's checkout terms.
